“The things I learned from my experience in music in school are discipline, perseverance, dependability, composure, courage and pride in results.”

About Mrs. Dengler...

My name is Kelly Dengler.  I have been a teacher in Phoenixville Area School District since 2001 teaching vocal music to children in kindergarten through 5th grade.  Currently, I am the vocal music teacher at Manvon Elementary and Phoenixville Area Early Learning Center.  My love for music began at a young age and took off when I started playing flute and singing in my elementary school’s chorus in fifth grade.  Throughout my schooling I played in numerous instrumental ensembles and sang in several choirs.  In 1997, I attended West Chester University where I later received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a minor in Spanish.  In 2006, I received a Master’s Degree in Music Education from West Chester University and Level 1, 2 and 3 Certifications in the Orff-Schulwerk approach to teaching music.  During my time in Phoenixville, in addition to teaching vocal music classes I have directed 3rd, 4th and 5th grade choruses, elementary musicals, and many other performances and performing ensembles throughout the year.  In my spare time, I teach after-school Spanish classes through the Phoenixville Area World Language Program.  I also enjoy traveling, scuba diving, painting, crafts and spending time with my family and dogs.
